12/13/2002 Archived Entry: "My Day"
I let the slave talk me into running around with her for a few hours today (she bribed me with the opportunity for steak and eggs). She's being artsy today, so she pretty much blew off work. She's making oil lamps and floral arrangements. She's amazingly good at that stuff. I think she could sell her oil lamps at juried art fairs. Each one has $50-$60 in materials, though, so she'd need to ask $100/lamp to make it worth her while.
I spent most of my work time since my last entry figuring out AVS programs and doing search boxes. I think when we make new AVS sites, we'll make front ends for about eight different AVS's and I picked CyberSexNetwork as the one to actively promote. That one holds out the promise of monthly recurring income even from the smaller sites. The others I will use for traffic and upsells. As for the search boxes, I used to make about $750/month from alt.com and outpersonals.com, just from banner ads. Since then, my income from those programs has fallen to less than $100/month. I'm going to try putting search boxes on my sites for those programs, so the visitor can actually perform a search from my site and see that there are people in his area wanting to meet him. That seems like a lot better way to advertise than the old banners. When I was testing the search boxes, I saw interesting people in my own area looking for companions and I had to argue myself out of buying a membership. I'm usually pretty hard to sell on stuff like that...
